Time to Roar—Part 3

Time to Roar—Part 3

This is the final installment of the “Time to Roar” post series which was inspired by the sound of the Lion’s roar I’ve been hearing in the Spirit for months. If you missed the last one, you can find it here.

In response to hearing the Lion’s roar, I wrote a prophetic warfare song about the Lion’s roar releasing the glory of God. I’m going to invite you once again into my somewhat messy head space as I type “out loud” my thoughts on how to release God’s glory through our lives.

God’s glory. It seems so incredible and intangible, almost like one of those dreams you wish you had every night, you know, the ones you hate waking up from? It’s something we hear a lot about in church circles, we pray for it, we seek it, and we want it. But what is it?

Second Corinthians 4:6 says that the glory of God is in the face of Christ, and if we go back to John 1:14, we get a really good description of what is contained in the glory of God—grace and truth.

I remember having a vision about grace and truth without even realizing that this is how the glory of God was defined in the Bible. I had read the verse before, but it wasn’t one that just popped into my head, and I certainly didn’t make the connection when I initially received the vision.

In my vision I saw a Christian, dressed in radiant camo, with two large cannon-like weapons under his arms (the individual was a male in my vision). As this figure moved from side to side, feet firmly planted, giant glowing balls blasted out of the cannons. God told me one cannon was named grace and the other truth. I remember it was so important that the person had one in each arm, to keep him balanced. I remember how solid his footing was. I remember the well-fitted and sturdy boots he wore. I remember how powerful and beautiful the glowing balls of glory were that came barreling out. When these balls came out, no one was harmed, but rather, explosions of light dramatically transformed the environment. People were drawn to the transformative light that radiated all around.

So here are my thoughts…ready? The only source for the glory is God (obviously), but God chooses to live within and work through people. Therefore, we bear and release the glory of God through our lives. But it doesn’t just “happen” to get released just because our lungs are cycling oxygen and carbon dioxide. Jesus, as a human being, bore the glory of God. What did He do? He reached out to touch people, He spoke to demons and physical conditions, and He welcomed crowds of people—from every age and social demographic. And what happened? The blind were able to see. The lame were able to walk and run and jump. The dead were raised. Obviously, He had an immense measure, but He Himself said that we will do far greater things (see John 14:12).

How did He do it? How did He take the glory that was within Him and release it so it created a change—a supernatural, undeniably God-powered change—in those around Him? He tells us His secret in John 5:19 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” HE OBEYED GOD! That’s it.

He stood firm in faith (remember the solid footing?) and evidenced that through His unconditional obedience. Even if things didn’t make sense, He didn’t argue (as I’ve done sometimes—oops). He chose to believe what His Father said above what logic said. I mean, if God told me to spit in some dirt and then smear it on someone’s face so they would be able to see, I think I’d struggle. Just being honest. But Jesus? Yes, Father. And the miraculous happened!

Jesus was perfectly connected with His Father, He was complete and whole. In other words, He lived in what is called shalom in Hebrew culture. Shalom is a word that we translate as peace in English, but it means SO MUCH MORE than our English counterpart. The only place to find shalom is in God.

The deeper the connection to God, the greater the measure of shalom we will experience. Remember the boots in my vision? Ephesians 6 says that our feet are fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of peace. How can we be ready to do what God tells us to do—even if it makes us as uncomfortable as mixing our saliva with dirt and smearing it on someone’s face?

Through a deep connection with God, the type that I know that I know that I know that I heard God say XXX and that I know that I know that I know that I know that God WILL DO IT if I obey. I don’t need to understand it. It doesn’t need to make logical sense. I just have to have enough intimacy with God that I’m not rocked when He beckons me into a forward leap of faith of obedience which unlocks the supernatural.

When we release His power through our surrendered obedience to His voice, His grace is the catalyst for change. Grace is the empowerment of God; it’s His love and power. Grace creates a change and causes an alignment with God’s truth. When I believe in faith that God loves me and sent Jesus to die for my sins, that faith releases God’s grace, and it transforms my spirit nature from darkness to righteousness. Bam! Like that. That’s the glory of God. That’s His grace and His truth partnering together to bring true, eternal transformation. But salvation is only the beginning; His grace and His truth continue to work in our lives to progressively transform us to be more and more like Him. As we grow to be more like Him and cultivate intimacy with Him and learn to completely surrender to Him which makes us more like Him (see how the cycle goes?), we are able to release greater and greater measures of His glory through our acts of obedience through gained authority in the spiritual realm to release His glory (His grace and truth) to those around us. Hallelujah! It’s exciting! It’s exciting to be a part of God’s amazing, incredible plan for humanity.

Bottom line: How do we release God’s glory in our lives? Unconditional surrendered obedience. How do we see greater measures of His glory? Do THAT (unconditional, surrendered obedience to His leading) every single day, over and over and over again. Every day for weeks, months, and years. It adds up to a radiant shockwave.
