Lion's Roar Rainbow
I know I had said a couple of posts ago that the post series on the Lion’s roar was done, but…well…I recently had another vision involving the Lion’s roar which inspired more thoughts. So, here we go.
I was at the ladies’ retreat for my local church. I was privileged to be on the planning committee again this year, so I got a back scenes view of the event. When we begin the planning process, we begin with prayer. As a group, we seek the Lord for what He is releasing and speaking into the ladies of our church this year. During this meeting, the Lord again allowed me to hear the Lion’s roar. I wasn’t the only one who had a lion or a roaring sound highlighted in some way. It was pretty clear that this was going to be the theme for the event.
After months of planning and preparations, the day finally arrived! During the opening worship set I again saw the Lion roaring, just as I had when I wrote these lines from a prophetic song that God wrote through me:
The Lion is roaring, releasing the glory
Your voice is thundering!
The Lion was huge and strong. He had a thick, full mane which He shook then roared. In the vision, when the Lion opened His mouth, it wasn’t just sound that came out. The sound was there, for sure, I can still hear it in my spirit even as I type this, but in addition to the sound, a massive flood of brilliant white light shot out and filled the darkness in front of the Lion.
This was the same vision I had had many months before, but this time, God took it one step further. He brought me closer to the glory beam and then magnified a small portion of it. It was beautiful! Within the glory beam was a sparkling rainbow.
I remembered how God had highlighted the importance of unity within the Church so we can all release God’s glory through our lives in the unique way He designed for us to do so. Here, again, through this beautiful, poignant imagery, God was again stressing the importance of unity to release the flood of His glory in the Earth.
In science class, we learn that white light is really a blend of different colors of light—a rainbow of colors. We don’t see rainbows all around us all the time because a phenomenon of physics needs to occur first. But when this happens, when droplets of water or a prism causes the light to change its direction, a rainbow appears. But here’s the thing, without ALL the colors present, natural white light doesn’t exist. The white light needs that spectrum of colors in order to be what it is. If the wavelengths that produce red were absent, it wouldn’t be white light. If the wavelengths that we see as violet were absent, it wouldn’t be white light. We need ALL of them. They are all unique and equally valuable. They all perform a distinct role and align right where they were designed to be. We don’t see green where there should be red, nor do we see violet where there should be yellow. The colors simply line up right where God designed them to be.
It’s the same with us. God designed each of us unique. We each have our talents, skills, personalities, gifts, and callings. God has a perfect place for each one of us and a role that is unique, distinct, and indispensable. All we need to do is align our lives with God, and He will place us right where we belong. We need to roar, releasing the sound that He gave each one of us, knowing that He will place it where He wants it. It won’t happen in our strength! It won’t happen because we tried to make it happen! The danger in trying to make it happen is that we may try to make our yellow wavelength go where the red is supposed to go. It simply won’t work! It winds up being a lot of effort and can put unnecessary strain on us and our relationships. When we instead sink into His voice and release from a position of rest in Him, it’s His roar going where He wants and needs it to go, and He is the master designer and orchestrator. He blends all of our roars together into one, unified roar of glory. It’s powerful. And it’s beautiful.
